RIPFEST Collaborative Film Project #6 MOVIE MUSICALS
Raw Impressions assembled seven teams of filmmakers, four in New York City and three in Los Angeles, for RIPFEST #6. Each team was assigned a Producer, a Director, a writing/composing team, a choreographer, a Director of Photography, as Editor, a few actors, and two locations. None of them had worked together before, most of them had never met before.
Their mission: Create a completely original 10-minute movie musical in 16 days, using the actors and the locations assigned to their team. There was no restriction on content or style, but the teams were given the overall genre "Movie Musicals" and the theme "Without Thinking." Then they had: 2 days to write a score and a script, 4 days to record the music and prepare their shoot, 2 days to shoot the movie, and 8 days to edit it all together. All seven films were screened in NY and LA on May 23 and 24th, 2005, just 16 days after the process started.

Sex, love, religion, family, money, distrust, blood, and heroism are all on the evening's menu, but for Stephanie, Alex, Bruce, and Jeff, the question lingers: how do you put together this puzzle? Or does life make more sense in pieces?

Everything But Suicide
A disturbing and thought provoking film of one man's journey through a life, and how his past has impacted his present. In his mind, seeing his thoughts, hearing his words, watching his actions, we follow a mind bending day in the life of one young man in the 21st century. (approx 8 minutes).
The RIFC wishes to Thank Nick Psinakis for allowing us to bring you this film. A powerful film and a great example of what The Really Independent Film Channel is setting out to bring to viewers, a selection of films by young artists which cannot be seen anywhere else, on the web, or elsewhere.
